Over seventy years after my parents first arrived on the shores of Singapore, and sixty-two years since the nation gained its independence in 1965, Aether 72 will launch its flagship presence in the Lion City. This is more than a business expansion; it is a tribute to the resilience of the Tongkang era and the vibrant energy of Boat Quay that shaped our heritage.

Boat Quay was our home—a place where Tongkang cargo boats held spices and silk, and where a new nation was taking shape. By 1964, when my birth was officially recorded, Singapore was forging its identity. This balance between heritage and innovation became the foundation of who I am.

To this day, the sight of the traditional boats on the river reminds me that a legacy is built through patience and a journey across many waters.

Boat Quay Today: The New Era

 In 2026, the humble quayside of the Tongkang era has been transformed. Today, Boat Quay is the vibrant, cosmopolitan heartbeat of Singapore’s skyline. The historic shophouses where spice-laden cargo once rested are now home to Michelin-starred dining, curated boutiques, and sophisticated bars that define global luxury.

This new era, where the traditional architecture stands bold against the modern towering financial center, perfectly reflects the Aether 72 philosophy. We see Boat Quay not just as a landmark, but as a living bridge between the resilience of the past and the ambition of the future—the final step in our own full circle.
